Armenia has not responded to the proposals on the return of corpses

At the meetings held with the Representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan after the signing of the humanitarian ceasefire agreement in Moscow on October 10, 2020,  Chairman of the State Commission of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Ali Naghiyev and other officials brought to the notice that the Republic of Azerbaijan is ready for mutual exchange of corpses of the military servicemen related to both parties, even for the unilateral return of a part of corpses of the Armenian military servicemen to Armenia, as well as for the release of 2 Armenian servicemen and 2 civilians retained in Azerbaijan in exchange for 2 Azerbaijani hostages held by the opposite side.

At the same time, it was noted that the Azerbaijani side is ready to unilaterally release the 85-year-old Armenian woman left behind in the combat zone when the Armenian armed forces retreated.

Despite the aforementioned, so far, the Republic of Armenia has not responded to proposals of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the release of war prisoners and the retained persons and return of corpses.
