An event was held on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the birth of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in SSS

On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern independent Azerbaijan, the creator of our modern statehood and the honorary head of Azerbaijan's security agencies, the Chief of the State Security Service (SSS) Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev and the employees of the Service visited the grave of the Great Leader in the Alley of Honor, laid wreaths and flowers and expressed their deep respect to the dear memory of the genius person.

The memory of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated and flowers were arranged on her grave.

National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our republic were commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem was played at the event organized in the assembly hall of the SSS with the participation of the personnel of the Service.

The Chief of the SSS Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, delivered a wide-ranging speech and overlooked at the life path of the genius leader and emphasized that the work of the Great Leader in the security agencies, to which he dedicated 25 years of his meaningful life, was considered an important stage in the history of these agencies and spoke in detail about establishment of the security organization based on the ideology of Azerbaijanism by Great Leader’s invaluable efforts, his unparalleled services in preserving the independence of our state by taking on the rescue mission. Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev stated that the basis of today's security agencies' activity is the school of professionalism and patriotism founded by Heydar Aliyev in this institution, and the employees of SSS, as successors of this school, work hard to maintain and develop Heydar Aliyev's traditions in the security agencies.

The Chief of the Service, Ali Naghiyev, pointed out that the special services are successfully carrying out their activities under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, the political successor of the Great Leader, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

After the end of the official part, the event continued with the artistic part - a concert program performed by well-known cultural and art representatives in the Cultural center of the SSS.
