An event was organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy

On December 1, a solemn ceremony was held in the Cultural Center of the State Security Service (SSS) in connection with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy of the SSS (Academy) named after Heydar Aliyev. The event was attended by the heads of law enforcement and other state bodies, the management staff and employees of the SSS, rectors of higher educational institutions, members of parliament and veterans of security agencies.

First, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem was played.

Then a video clip dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Academy was demonstrated, followed by the speech of the Chief of the SSS, Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev.

Greeting the guests and conveying his congratulations to the Academy's professors and lecturers and cadets, the Chief of the Service emphasized that establishment of the Academy of the security agency for the purpose of training highly educated personnel for the special services 25 years ago - on December 1, 1998 with the relevant Decree of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the fact that the 25th anniversary coincided with the 100th anniversary of the National Leader's birth is an important event in the history of these bodies, and pointed out that the educational institution currently trains loyal followers of Heydar Aliyev's school of professionalism and patriotism. Taking into account the Great Leader's invaluable services to the security agencies, to which he dedicated 25 years of his meaningful life, the decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev on December 20, 2005, naming the Academy after the genius Heydar Aliyev entered the history of the security agencies as another significant event. Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev stated that today the personnel of the SSS and the Academy are basing their activities on the actions and ideas of the National Leader.

Ali Naghiyev, Chief of the SSS, spoke in detail about the work done during the past period with the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of improving the material and technical base of the Academy, organizing education in accordance with modern requirements, and raising the level of the educational process by successfully applying modern technological innovations, said that it is a matter of pride that his cadets won winner titles in various knowledge competitions held among the leading higher education institutions of our country.

Later, other guests also spoke about the reforms carried out in the field of education in Azerbaijan, the Academy's contributions to the development of this strategic sector and wished success to the professors and teachers and cadets on the difficult and honorable path.

After the official part of the event was over, the guests were presented with an artistic program performed by cultural and artistic figures.

A series of events in connection with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy will continue on December 2 with a scientific-practical conference called “The Academy of the State Security Service named after Heydar Aliyev is the bearer of the Great Leader's legacy”.
