An event on cyber security was held in Baku
On October 26, the
cyberfestival (“Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2023”) was launched
at the Baku Congress Center. The event, jointly organized by the State Service
of Special Communication and Information Security and the State Security
Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, brought together local and foreign
companies in the cyber field, institutions operating in the public and private
sector, students and experts.

Communications and Information Security State Service Lieutenant-General Ilgar
Musayev, Chief of the State Security Service Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, Сhairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov,
Deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the
Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis
Tahir Mirkishili, Chairman of the Management
Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of
Azerbaijan Orkhan Mammadov, Deputy minister
of digital development and transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir
Mammadov, Deputy general director of “Azerconnect” Company Dovlat Dovlatov and Vice-president
of external relations and communications of “BP” Company in the Caspian Region
Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli gave speeches at
the opening of the event.
Within the framework of
the event, for the first time in Azerbaijan, 20 IT teams of 3-5 people from
state institutions, critical infrastructures, banks, and telecommunication
enterprises shall compete in a virtual war with the simulation of cyber-attacks
within 2 days. On the last day of the event the winning team will receive a
prize of 30,000 manats.
During the event 10
presentations, 5 panel discussions on information security, as well as free
trainings in 6 different fields are planned by the organizers. All guests have
the opportunity to visit the exhibition of cyber security solutions,
participate in virtual competitions and win prizes.
It should be noted that
the cyberfestival is organized in order to improve the experience, knowledge
and skills of the employees of state institutions, critical infrastructures,
financial and telecommunication sectors on information security and to
strengthen the networking and coordination between the public and private
sectors.
