A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the terrorist act committed against the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On September 19, 2023 at around 04:30 a.m. a “Kamaz” model vehicle carrying employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan while moving in direction of earlier terrorist incident that resulted in the death of employees of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads on the 58th kilometer of the Ahmadbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha road passing through the Khojavend region, passing through a newly built tunnel road in the territory of Tagaverd village of Khojavend district exploded on a mine planted by the sabotage and diversion group of the illegal Armenian armed units operating within the temporary dislocation area of the peacekeepers. As a result of this terrorist act Jamalzade Asim Knyaz oglu (born 05.02.1994), Shirinov Ramil Arif oglu (born on 07.08.1987), Mahmudov Seymur Elsever oglu (born on 07.12.1991) and Zamanov Khazar Azer oglu (born on 07.21.1998) were killed at the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigation head department of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan under articles 214.2.1, 214.2.2, 214.2.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (terrorism using repeated firearms, explosives and devices by an organized group), 120.2.1, 120.2.3, 120.2.4, 120.2.7, 120.2.10, 120.2.11, 120.2.12 (terrorist-related killing of two or more persons by an organized gang, by a common dangerous method, repeatedly, in the performance of the victim's official duties, with national enmity and hostile intent), 228.3 (repeatedly illegal acquisition, storage, transportation and movement of firearms, their complete parts, ammunition, explosives and devices by an organized gang) and other articles.

Joint investigative-operational measures are being carried out on the criminal case, additional information will be provided to the public about its progress.
