A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the terrorist act committed in Khojavand

On September 19, 2023, investigations were started on the basis of information received regarding the death of 2 civilians as a result of a mine explosion at the 58th kilometer of the Ahmadbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha road.

During the preliminary investigations it was established that, at around 03:45 on that date, the “Shacman Howo” brand vehicle carrying employees of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, exploded on a antitank mine planted by the sabotage and diversion group of the illegal Armenian armed groups operating in the temporary dislocation area of the peacekeepers at the 58th kilometer of the Ahmedbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha road passing through the territory of the Khojavend region. As a result of the committed terrorist act, civilians who were employees of Department No.43 of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, Guliyev Farhad Huseynaga (born on 02.05.1965) and Sadikhov Samir Sabirovich (born on 21.11.1970) were identified as dead.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigation head department of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan under articles 214.2.1, 214.2.2, 214.2.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (terrorism using repeated firearms, explosives and devices by an organized group), 120.2.1, 120.2.4, 120.2.7, 120.2.10, 120.2.11, 120.2.12 (terrorist-related killing of two or more persons by an organized gang, by a common dangerous method, repeatedly, in the performance of the victim's official duties, with national enmity and hostile intent), 228.3 (repeatedly illegal acquisition, storage, transportation and movement of firearms, their complete parts, ammunition, explosives and devices by an organized gang) and other articles.
