An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader was held in the Ganja city department of the State Security Service

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated September 29, 2022 on declaration of 2023 as the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, an event called “Heydar Aliyev is the honorary head of the security agencies” was held in Ganja as part of series of events organized by the State Security Service (SSS).

The event was attended by Niyazi Bayramov, the head of the Ganja City Executive Authority, the management staff and employees of the SSS, the heads of the city's law enforcement agencies, rectors of higher education institutions located in Ganja, deputies of the Milli Majlis and veterans of the security agencies.

First, the participants of the event visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the center of Ganja city, laid flowers in front of it and expressed their deep respect to the memory of the genius.

Later, the event was continued in the assembly hall of Ganja city administration. The dear memory of our martyrs who died for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem was played.

Speakers at the event spoke in detail about Heydar Aliyev's 25 years of activity in the special service bodies, talked about the process of nationalization carried out by the genius leader in this institution, the recruitment of a large number of Azerbaijani personnel during his activity, his deep intelligence, broad outlook, ability to correctly analyze events, education and thanks to his talent, he was promoted from the position of operational commissioner to the position of chairman of the State Security Committee of the Azerbaijan SSR. Speakers emphasized that even after independence, the Great Leader never withheld his support from the security organization, and the attention and concern of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, to these bodies.

The event ended with the screening of the first edition of the “Confidential” project, which was carried out by the SSS together with Azerbaijan Television, and which was dedicated to the “Naturalist” operation conducted under the leadership of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev when he served in the security agencies.
