Persons illegally bringing foreigners in the country detained and held accountable

The State Security Service conducted joint investigations with the State Border Service regarding the information received about the illegal crossing of citizens of foreign countries through the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan into the territory of the country.

As a result of operational search activities, reasonable suspicions arose that the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aghayev Rasif Nufiali oglu, born in 1991 and Isayev Anvar Abaskhan oglu, born in 1970, colluded in advance with certain persons living in the Islamic Republic of Iran and organized secret passage of foreigners from that country bypassing the checkpoints to the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.  

It was established that Rasif Aghayev and Anvar Isayev colluded with the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and agreed to organize the illegal transfer of citizens of foreign countries who were in the territory of the aforementioned country to the Republic of Azerbaijan in exchange for financial interest, therefore, Rasif Aghayev crossed the state border from the village of Arvana of the Yardimli district to the Islamic Republic of Iran using night vision devices and other technical equipments, transferred the foreigners who were there, illegally bypassing the checkpoints of the state border and according to the agreement reached in advance, they were first taken to the house of Anvar Isayev, located in the village of Arvana of the Yardimli district, and from there to his house located in Baku. Both persons, including citizens of foreign countries were detained during operational activities.

Rasif Aghayev and Anvar Isayev were held responsible under Article 318.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan by a group of persons who colluded in advance) in the criminal case conducted by the State Security Service.

Criminal case is under investigation.
