The person sharing false news about the coronavirus on social media platforms has been identified

In recent days, an audio recording had gone viral on the social networking platforms, claiming that the third wave of the coronavirus in Azerbaijan will be more frightening and tragic, children will be infected at this stage, there will be many deaths among them and that preparations are being made in hospitals for the admission of infected children.

Given that the audio recording was shared by a doctor, it not only caused panic and anxiety among citizens, but also created mistrust in the measures undertaken by the state against the coronavirus.

As a result of investigations conducted by the State Security Service it was identified that the person who shared the news, which caused confusion and unfounded concern among the citizens, was Majidova Ilaha, born in 1974, a doctor of the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, who was sent to Gobustan Central Hospital for treatment of coronavirus patients.

Ilaha Majidova expressed regret over sharing the audio recording, which was based on her misconceptions and apologized to the public, admitting that she failed to think about the serious consequences of this action in the current sensitive period of the coronavirus pandemic.

The issue of bringing Ilaha Majidova to justice will be resolved in accordance with the law.
