Captured Armenian servicemen expressed gratitude for their treatment and the behaviour demonstrated to them
Secretary of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Ismayil Akhundov has visited at the hospital the Armenian servicemen - Sargsyan Areg Siraki (13.11.2001), Amirjanyan Narek Gariki (23.05.2001), and Mikayelyan Albert Yervandi (07.09.2001) - who were captured wounded during the military operations launched by the Armenian armed forces against the Republic of Azerbaijan in violation of the ceasefire on September 27.
During the visit, the Secretary of the Commission inquired about the condition of the wounded Armenian servicemen, their treatment and conditions of their detention.
The Armenian servicemen expressed satisfaction with their treatment and the attitude shown to them in Azerbaijan, and expressed their gratitude for their normal medical treatment.
Guided by the relevant provisions of international humanitarian law, during the visit, it was ensured that two of the wounded Armenian servicemen contacted their families by telephone. Albert Mikayelyan, who did not remember the phone numbers of his family members, was provided with the opportunity to contact his relatives to inform them about his condition and treatment via a video appeal.
The Armenian servicemen expressed gratitude for being visited, particularly for the provision of telephone contact with their family members.
